RULES..... WE DON'T NEED NO STINKN' RULES!
Sorry, sad to say yes we do. We will try and keep them to a minimum for funs sake.
1. NAMBA safety rules in effect; if you're not familiar with them we will have a copy for review at the event. Here's a few that I want to mention. No starting of engines in the pits, must be in designated area. No operation of RC boats while chase boat is on the water. And we will have a TX impound area except for 2.4ghz systems.
2. All boats must have some kind of 'Failsafe'; this is the only item that we will 'Tech'. That means that you will have to demonstrate 'Failsafe' by turning off your TX and having your throttle go to idle/cutoff position. Spektrum radios have a failsafe feature built in and there are several different makes available for all other systems. We will have at our store and at the event the latest Gas EKG (engine kill guard) from Warehouse hobbies available for sale.
Speaking of 'TECH': we will not be tech'ng motors to see if they are modified or un-modified. We will go with the honor and integrity system and trust that all participants understand that un-modified means your basic Zenoah, Fuji, CY, Homelite, CRRC Pro or ?..... as sold without any internal changes/modifications. Run whatever tuned pipe / exhaust you want. Modified motors are ....... whatever you want.
3. There will be no 'Protests'. Race Director and designated officials decisions/calls etc. are final.
"SO LET IT BE SAID, SO LET IT BE WRITTEN"
4. All classes will run together, Mono/Vee and Catamarn modified or un-modified etc. will run together. Heats/Sections will be determined by radio conflicts only. Obviously if we have 25 boats on 2.4ghz systems we will (as much as I would like to see them all out there at the same time) divide them up into Heats/Sections of around 10 boats max. Minimum hull length is 40 inches
Production Hulls (RTR) - Vee Hulls and Catamaran Hulls.
Hulls with stock/un-modified motors up to 35cc
Pvee & Pcat classes
Open X - Vee Hulls and Catamaran Hulls.
Hulls with modified motors up to 35cc
Xvee & Xcat classes
Open XX- Vee Hulls and Catamaran Hulls.
Hulls with motors(STOCK OR MOD) over 35cc and multi engine Hulls
XXvee & XXcat classes
I think that's about it for rules except for "Relax and have fun".
Rules & Info.
Races will be 10-15 minutes (TBD) around an irregular course, all drivers will require a 'throttle' pitman to be at drivers side to keep them informed of dead boats, water/race conditions etc.; the 'throttle/pitman' will also be responsible for counting laps using a handheld counter that will be provided at start of each race. Honor system in effect, although we will be doing random audits with volunteers from participants not in that race. We will not be counting partial laps, in the event of a tie we will have a 5-10 minute runoff.
DEAD BOATS: If your boat is in danger of sinking the Race director can stop the race for retrieval. Also at the Race directors discretion if there are so many dead boats that racing is hazardous, then the race will be stopped and the boats can be retrieved. As soon as the chase boat hits the shore the race clock will resume. Boats that have been retrieved will be allowed to restart and get back into the race up untill the last 5 minutes of the race. And here's a cool rule; if your boat is damaged and can't continue you may continue racing with another boat as long as it is in the same class.
